Virtual Field Trip: Autism Care Center in Smyrna, Georgia

Smyrna sits in the heart of Georgia, just a quick 15-minute drive from downtown Atlanta. The city is home to 50,000 people, and, since 2023, one of Behavior Frontiers’ newest autism centers!

Famous celebrities such as Julia Roberts (actress), Cat Power (musician), and Ron Gant (athlete) were born in the charming city. Known as "the Jonquil City", Smyrna blooms with a huge number of jonquil flowers in early spring.

If you're looking for autism care near Atlanta, our center is open and enrolling! It boasts over 5,500 square feet of space and has the ability to treat up to 26 children at one time. Our state-of-the-art facility has 8 treatment rooms for one-on-one autism care sessions and six targeted playrooms. We designed these rooms with motor skills, dramatic play, and constructive play in mind!

This center has a special kitchen for clients, a room for training parents, and restrooms for toilet training children with autism.

Leading the charge on bringing ABA therapy in Smyrna is Clinical Director Keyann Griffin.

Meet Our Behavior Frontiers Smyrna Clinical Director Keyann Griffin

Keyann received her bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies with a focus on Educational Psychology, and Human Growth and Development from Georgia State University. In 2015, she began her ABA journey while working at a school. At the same time, she was studying for a master's degree at Ball State University.

Keyann gained experience working with different people with developmental disabilities, including children and adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Keyann achieved certification as a Behavior Analyst in 2019.

Keyann, who has lived in Smyrna for the past 4 years, had plenty to say about the town she now calls home:

“It’s family oriented. There are a lot of parks, and good schools for the kids. Families are always walking to parks or restaurants. There are lots of family activities sponsored the city of Smyrna, which is really nice. It’s a very small town/suburban feel, but within fifteen minutes of the city.”

Keyann points out Taylor Brawner Park and Smyrna Market Village (with its new green space and park) as some great places for local families.

Smyrna is also a wonderful place for autism families.

There is a very active local parent’ group, and they are always sharing helpful resources", Keyann continues.

"Many events in the area are inclusive, creating an excellent opportunity for families to practice and work on social and community skills. And, being centrally located, families in Smyrna are in a perfect location to be able to access services in the wider Atlanta area.”

Are you a parent interested in autism care services near Atlanta? Here's what Keyann would like you to know:

“I want them to know about my passion for helping families with autism. I feel like parents reach out, not knowing much about services, and I see myself as a resource to help. It can be finding a diagnosing physician or explaining how applied behavior analysis can help their family," she explains.

"Behavior Frontiers provides ethical, individualized treatment to each child. We uniquely design the curriculum to address the needs of each kiddo. And, unlike other applied behavioral therapy providers, we always involve the family in treatment planning."
