School District Services

Behavior Frontiers is also certified by the California Department of Education as a nonpublic agency to provide behavior intervention design (BID) and behavior intervention implementation (BII) to school-aged children with autism and other special needs. A BID staff member is essentially the behavior supervisor who assesses the student’s behavioral needs and who designs a behavior intervention plan for the student. A BII staff member is the equivalent of a behavior technician who works one-to-one with the student to carry-out the behavior intervention plan. Both staff members are essential for a student to receive effective ABA services.

Regional Center Services

We provide ABA services for children through California Regional Centers. California Regional Centers are nonprofit private corporations that contract with the California Department of Developmental Services to provide or coordinate services and support for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Stacy Iwamoto, M.A., BCBA

Clinical Director — South Bay Region

Stacy Iwamoto received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley. She obtained her master's degree in Special Education from Cal State Dominguez Hills and completed her coursework to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst at Florida Institute of Technology. She has worked in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) since 2009 and has been a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) since February 2014. As part of the Behavior Frontiers team, she has supervised ABA services in the home, school, and community settings. She is trained in ABA using Discrete Trial Training (DTT), Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), Verbal Behavior (VB), and Natural Environment Teaching (NATs) methods. Stacy oversees the treatment programs of those clients served in the South Bay areas. She is dedicated to provide high quality services, individualized treatment programs for each of her clients, and ongoing collaboration with her clinical teams and families.

Amy Aduna, M.Ed., BCBA

Clinical Director – Los Angeles Autism Treatment Center - Gardena

Amy (Mendez) Aduna graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from California State University, Long Beach, and later earned her Master of Education with an emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis from Arizona State University, becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst in 2017. She has been in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) since 2011 working with individuals on the Autism Spectrum in the home, community and school setting. Amy supervises the treatment programs of those clients served in the South East Los Angeles areas. She is enthusiastic to teach skills through individualized, high quality ABA services that individuals may use for the rest of their lives.

Katherine Sierra Palacios, M.A., BCBA

Clinical Director — South East Los Angeles

Katherine Sierra Palacios received her undergraduate degree from California State University, Long Beach, with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology in 2014. She later earned a Master of Arts in Teaching with Specialization in Applied Behavior Analysis degree from National University and became Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in 2021. She has been a part of the Behavior Frontiers team since 2014 and enjoys having ongoing collaboration with families, the clinical teams, and other services providers. Providing caregiver training, conducting assessments, treatment planning and monitoring progress through data analysis encompass some of Katherine’s responsibilities as a BCBA. Her favorite part of her job is watching children with various neurodevelopmental disorders reach milestones, be proud of themselves and be celebrated by all their loved ones. Katherine grew up in the community that she services, and therefore, is extremely passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of the clients and families she works with.

Laura Leon, M.A., BCBA

Clinical Director — West LA

Laura Leon graduated with a double Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Psychology from California State University, Northridge (CSUN), and later earned her Master of Arts degree in Behavioral Clinical Psychology from CSUN. She became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst in 2014. Ms. Leon has 10 years of experience servicing children and adolescents diagnosed with autism, intellectual disability, ADHD, and dually diagnosed mental health conditions in the home, school, community, and social skills centers.

Ms. Leon’s interests and passions include parent training, prompt fading, Functional Communication Training, maladaptive behavior reduction, training of Behavior Technicians, culture sensitivity in programming, and mentoring future Behavior Analysts. Ms. Leon oversees Case Managers and Behavior Supervisors in the South East Los Angeles region and feels fortunate to do what she loves every day!
